AC Milan will take some time to reflect on their pursuit of Juan Miranda given the defender’s salary request, according to a report.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report this morning that Milan intend to continue with their trend of signing young and talented players for figures that are very much within reach, whether they are inexperienced or not.
The idea is that the future is built by choosing well, taking risks and giving Stefano Pioli players with potential that he can hopefully nurture, as he has with others in the squad.
That is why Juan Miranda remains a concrete target in view of upcoming transfer windows. Milan moved ahead of time, understood the conditions needed to make the deal happen, and are now reflecting.
The 23-year-old has an expiring contract and could be signed in January for around €3m, but he wants €2m net per season salary from his next club, which is not an insignificant amount especially with the doubts about the Growth Decree.
Yes, he should probably come for free and play for free?
I know it was an idiot like you who gave Origi his 4.5m/yr salary lmao
He earns 1.3M now so idk why anyone would make a pikachu face at his searching for a “raise “
You’re right, it’s not an unreasonable request and in fact I’m sure he’ll get it somewhere too.
Keep in mind, Real Betis have publicly said they want to extend his contract (he wants more playing time) and are likely offering close to the 2m.
MIranda only plays LB. He has never played CB or RB. Milan would ideally like to find someone who can cover multiple roles in case of emergency – and I think that is the real hold up here.
They need a CB cover as well as a LB cover and don’t have a ton of money to splash around to make it happen.
Miranda is a pretty solid player though, came up through Barcelona’s system. He hasn’t “exploded” yet but many people think he has the potential.
