GdS: Early return to Real Madrid cannot be excluded for Brahim Diaz – the latest

By Isak Möller -

After an encouraging first season with the club, AC Milan decided to extend Brahim Diaz’s loan until 2023 ahead of this campaign. They also added a buy-out option, but it might become irrelevant in the end.

The Spaniard, who wears the No.10 for the Rossoneri, is owned by Real Madrid and the buy-out clause in his contract is set at around €20m. However, there is also a €28m buy-back clause in favour of the Bernabeu side.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan haven’t exactly been blown away by the performances of Diaz this season and are thus evaluating the future. A meeting is scheduled with Real Madrid at the end of the season and no option can be ruled out.

This means that Diaz could return to Spain earlier than expected. This isn’t the most likely option, though, as the newspaper states but it simply cannot be ruled out. Everything will depend on the season finale, of course.

  1. Milan should let him go and scrape up money to get Bernardo Silva…he can be such an awesome signing for AC Milan

  2. Would save about €6m if his salary report is accurate, but he’s a talented guy when he has space to work in, so a good option to have even if not a nailed on starter. If that €6m has a plan for an upgrade, fair enough, but would seem a strange decision IMO.
