GdS: Roma wide man wants Milan move as clubs are set to meet halfway on formula

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to close a deal with Roma for defender Alessandro Florenzi very soon, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that after weeks with Diogo Dalot and Alvaro Odriozola, in the end the new deputy to Davide Calabria will in fact arrive from a fellow Serie A club. Regarding the formula, a dry loan would have been perfect for Milan, but the Giallorossi wanted an outright sale or at least a loan with obligation to buy.

In the end it is likely that the agreement will be found halfway with a loan plus an option to buy that could become an obligation under certain conditions. The common will is to close the operation, including that of the player who is now pushing to start a new adventure at Milan.

Stefano Pioli will therefore get a versatile player as Florenzi can play right-back but also possibly alternate with Saelemaekers and be an option for the right wing too.
