GdS: Romagnoli could get chance from start vs. Lazio and take back armband

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli is carefully looking at his options ahead of Milan’s encounter with Lazio on Monday, as the Rossoneri really need to win the game. And according to a report, he could give the team captain a second chance.

Alessio Romagnoli hasn’t had the best of seasons with Milan and lost his starting spot to Fikayo Tomori, who arrived in January. Furthermore, he has had some injury struggles but is now back in the squad for real, ready to play.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), although Tomori is the favourite still, Pioli could field Romagnoli from the first minute against Lazio. It’s also possible that Simon Kjaer could be on the bench, with Tomori moving to the right.

Should Romagnoli get the chance, then he would take back the captain’s armband which Gigio Donnarumma has been wearing in his absence. But for now, this is just speculation and Pioli could very well confirm the Kjaer-Tomori partnership.
