GdS: Romagnoli-Tomori pairing working well as Pioli now has options to evaluate

Milan continued their pre-season with a draw against Nice last night as Olivier Giroud got on the scoresheet on his debut. At the back, Fikayo Tomori and Alessio Romagnoli continued to do well together.

Nice didn’t have a whole load of chances as the Rossoneri defence stood up well, dictated by Tomori and captain Romagnoli. The latter, for example, made an excellent tackle to stop a certain goal and looked very solid throughout the game.

As pointed out by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Romagnoli seems focused and determined on getting back his starting spot. And along with Tomori, who continues to perform very well, a strong centre-back pairing has been formed.

The two, last season, played almost nothing together but this pre-season is certainly an indication that Stefano Pioli has options. Romagnoli’s future may be uncertain, but he won’t let that affect his performances and above all, the team.
