GdS: Saelemaekers prepares for opportunity to bounce back in Verona-Milan

By Isak Möller -

Alexis Saelemaekers has been an important player for Milan this season but in recent weeks, he hasn’t been as effective. Samu Castillejo has been given the nod a few times instead and tomorrow will be an important test.

As Gazzetta Dello Sport report (via MilanNews), the Belgian is ahead of Castillejo with regards to the starting spot. The game against Hellas Verona, therefore, will be an important opportunity for him to regain the form he had a few months ago.

The intensity of Saelemaekers seems to have decreased, which is understandable given the tight scheduled, but the fouls in recent games are more a sign of nervousness. That is, rather than fighting spirit, which is one of his best traits.

He was rested against Udinese mid-week and he will surely be looking to bounce back with a strong performance tomorrow afternoon. After all, he certainly has the qualities to do really well.
