GdS: Sassuolo-owned youngster in pole to replace Ibrahimovic – has €30m price tag

Milan will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic tomorrow due to the one-game ban the Swede was handed by the sporting judge. It’s a blow, of course, but a sneak peek at what soon will be the reality for the Rossoneri.

Ibrahimovic will extend his contract beyond this season but the 2021/22 campaign is expected to be his last one. Therefore, Milan will have to find a replacement, preferably already this summer so the player can grow with the 39-year-old.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), all the roads lead to Gianluca Scamacca. The Sassuolo-owned ‘giant’ is currently on loan at Genoa and has impressed so just that he’s in pole position to replace Ibrahimovic.

Scamacca would be happy to be the backup of Ibrahimovic initially and tomorrow, he will have the opportunity to show his qualities at San Siro. Milan have been interested for quite some time and although the price tag was €25m in January, it has increased.

Sassuolo have slapped a €30m price tag on the 22-year-old and they could perhaps accept a little under that mark. Negotiations are yet to start but it’s clear that the Rossoneri will knock on the Neroverdi’s door soon.
