GdS: SPAL vs. Milan probable XIs – SPAL to leave out top scorer; two changes for Pioli

By Oliver Fisher -

The two star strikers in Andrea Petagna and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both likely to start from the bench on Wednesday night, a report claims.

Milan make the trip east to face SPAL looking to continue their red-hot form in Serie A since it returned. The Rossoneri have played two and won two since league action returned; the first being a 4-1 drubbing of Lecce last Monday which was followed up by a pleasing 2-0 win over Roma at San Siro on Sunday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the home side are set to leave out star man Andrea Petagna, a player who has scored over 50% (12 out of 28) of their league goals so far this season.

Milan will also not risk Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as Ante Rebic will once again have the opportunity to lead the line and build on his run of form which has seen him net eight goals in his last nine league games.

Probable SPAL XI (4-4-2): Letica; Sala, Vicari, Bonifazi, Fares; D’Alessandro, Valdifiori, Dabo, Valoti; Cerri, Floccari.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Castillejo, Paquetà, Calhanoglu; Rebic.
