GdS: Mercato, Milanello and Berlusconi Trophy – the agenda for Cardinale’s latest visit

Gerry Cardinale is back in Italy and he has met with the AC Milan management to discuss the strategy for the final part of the summer window, a report claims.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport recall, the last time he arrived in the country was on July 22 and what followed was 48 hours of meetings and planning in view of the 2024-25 season. That will happen again this time too, but in this case the main purpose of Cardinale’s arrival is the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy.

It is a tribute to a president who made Milan an elite club and around 50,000 spectators are expected at San Siro for the game. The club have even opened the sale of tickets for the second tier behind the goal, even if the Curva Sud will not be there with the usual chants and flags.

Cardinale landed in the city this morning and headed to Milanello to meet Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paulo Fonseca, and then he had lunch with the team. In the afternoon, he will go to Casa Milan series of meetings and discussions in view of the transfer window.

Not only that, but he will discuss the annual strategy and outline the most important points (including the new stadium, obviously). Tomorrow there will be a gala evening at the stadium.

Cardinale arrives in the company of John Thornton, chairman of RedBird and former co-president of Goldman Sachs, and it was during his time there that he had the opportunity to interact closely with Berlusconi.
