GdS: Theo Hernandez travels with France squad but will not be risked vs. Germany

By Oliver Fisher -

Theo Hernandez has travelled with the France squad for their game against Germany in Dortmund but he is not expected to play, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Didier Deschamps does not intend to risk Theo Hernandez after he suffered blow to the calf during Thursday’s match against Ireland. The full-back should not play, at least not as a starter, in tomorrow’s friendly match.

The Frenchman did not train either on Saturday or yesterday which aroused some panic, but the fact he remained at Clairefontaine with the team – unlike Olivier Giroud – showed it was nothing to worry about.

While he may not have participated in the team sessions, he still trained separately with a physiotherapist and yesterday he was able to run as normal. In short, there is no real alarm, but Deschamps will not risk him in a friendly.

The coaching staff of France are also perfectly aware of the derby on the horizon in Serie A which Theo wants to start.
