GdS: UEFA consider one-year ban for Juventus from European competitions – the latest

AC Milan’s hopes of being in the Champions League next season have been boosted as UEFA are expected to punish Juventus, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport speaks about the situation that Juventus are currently facing when it comes to participating in European competitions next season after their 15-point penalty was revoked for the time being.

The paper writes that UEFA cannot wait too long for the investigations that are ongoing in Italy, given that there are registrations for their competitions to be completed in view of the summer.

If the investigation into the capital gains case lengthens, UEFA will not wait for Italian judges but will independently decide the fate of Juve with their own parallel investigation, and it is likely their behaviour falls under the ‘unsportsmanlike’ category.

That could mean a season-long ban from European competitions so winning the Europa League or finishing in the top four would not change anything.

This also only refers to the capital gains case, so it is worth recalling that there is a separate inquiry into the payment of salaries during Covid plus the Super League sentence from the EU Court expected in June.

  1. Yes we all need this. Serie A and world football. UEFA to put 1 year ban to juventusmerda, plus point deduction in next season by FIGC.

  2. We shouldn’t depend on others. Our aim should be to finish top 4 with Juventus included. If they end up getting banned or points deducted, then great we’ll be in plus whoever is behind is and maybe bumped up to 3rd in the standings. Given results this weekend we might even be able to finish second. If we win all of our remaining games we can finish no lower than third, as we’ll own the head to head vs Juventus. It’s in our hands.

    1. We should thank Napoli and Atlanta for beating Juve and Roma. Now we have a good chance to remain in the top 4 and also the Europa League winner might be an Italian team this time, so we got nothing to worry.

  3. So many illegal/unethical things to choose from. I wonder which of them will finally get Juve the “prize” they deserve. Serie A will not be punishing them at all but who knows, maybe UEFA will after the whole Superleague thing. 😀
