GdS: Uphill battle awaits as Milan prepare to begin talks with Raiola over Romagnoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to formally open talks over the potential renewal of club captain Alessio Romagnoli, a report has claimed.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that a meeting will take place soon between the Milan management and Romagnoli’s agent Mino Raiola to see if there are the margins to extend his deal beyond the current deadline of June 2022.

The summit with the defender’s entourage will serve to understand if he can still have a future with the Rossoneri, who he joined all the way back in 2015 from Roma. Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will have to discuss with Raiola which will not exactly be easy given the war of words that has ensued in the media.

Romagnoli has lost his place in the first choice starting line-up to Fikayo Tomori, but is still racking up good minutes as Stefano Pioli continues to rotate.

  1. There should be no talks, Put the best reasonable offer on the table, take it or leave it, dont play anymore games with this agent, I would love for roma to stay but its highly unlikely he will, let him go for free at end of season so as to not disrupt team and shake his hand and wish him good luck in his future, he has done nothing to disrespect the club he deserves that at least
