GdS: ‘Too good for this level’ – Vos could quickly earn first team call-up

By Oliver Fisher -

During the second half of Milan Futuro’s draw with Carpi last night, Silvano Vos stole the show and drew a lot of praise from fans and coaches.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recall how after Francesco Camarda’s equaliser from the penalty spot he immediately went over to Vos to celebrate with him, a snapshot captured by photographers. Milan published the shot on social media: “Instant chemistry.”

Rewind just a few days, and Vos was not even a Milan player. Eventually the management agreed a deal with Ajax worth €5m including bonuses, working the Dutch side down from an initial asking price of double.

The management’s idea was clear from the start: to start Vos with the U23 team to settle in and regain confidence, then promotion to the first team remains a concrete possibility whenever they deem that he is ready.

Vos is a deeper-lying midfielder, but can also play as a mezzala or attacking midfielder. He could be useful to Paulo Fonseca during the current season to manage the group’s energy in Serie A and the Champions League.

Daniele Bonera spoke after draw with Carpi and stated: “Vos is a dynamic and enterprising player. He likes to play high and be aggressive. He had a good impact on the group, he gives us a big hand.” Carpi coach Cristian Serpini said: “Vos is too good for this level.”

The Dutchman seemed like a giant in his first 45 minutes with the Milan shirt. He lit up the game and dragged his team to the eventual 1-1 scoreline. He has character, technical ability and also an imposing size at 1.89m tall.

In terms of his playing style, insiders have compared him to Youssouf Fofana. For some, he reminds them of Franck Kessié. The truth is that the 2005-born player will have plenty of time to show that he has what it takes to make a difference in Serie A too.

  1. The problem right now is seeing how our whole team operates, even if he were to get a chance to play he won’t probably look good.

    1. l can see both teams are doing badly, even Daniele Bonera is not doing well too two matches one point wow, just imagining and feeling bad for my beloved AC Milan 💔💔

  2. We need to focus on DEFENSE ONLY for now. letting in 6 goals in 3 games is an aweful display at the back and we will never win trophies this way.

  3. Again shows how dumb the management are. You don’t buy perspective players like Vos to stagnate in useless youth squad.

You play the guy in the main team, the more — the better.
