We will have to wait a little longer yet to see Simon Kjaer’s return to the field as he is not expected to partake in AC Milan’s friendly against Wolfsberger, a report claims.
Kjaer sustained a serious injury back on 1 December 2021 against Genoa as he suffered the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the medial collateral ligament of his knee, meaning he had to miss the rest of the season as his team-mates won the Scudetto.
The 33-year-old wait to kick a ball in a game situation will soon come to an end 240 days after the injury and he was expected to take to the field against Wolfsberger in Austria tonight.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Francesco Nasato) however, Kjaer did individual work in training yesterday and as such he will not be risked in tonight’s game against the Austrian Bundesliga opponents. The game against Marseille on Sunday therefore becomes the target.
