GdS: Who is Folarin Balogun – the Arsenal-owned striker Milan are interested in

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking to invest in a centre-forward this summer and one of the names on their list is Folarin Balogun. The Arsenal-owned striker has attracted the interest of both Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud aren’t exactly getting any younger and Milan are thus looking to make an investment in that position in the summer. They have several names on their list, which you can read more about here, but one of them is Folarin Balogun.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the 21-year-old is currently on loan at Reims and has found the back of the net 15 times this season. He was born in New York and is of Nigerian descent, but he grew up in London as he moved there was he was two.

He made his first-team debut for Arsenal in 2020 (aged 18) against Dundalk and two years ago, he signed a contract until 2025. This came after he scored 40 goals with Arsenal U18 and another 45 with the U21.

After a loan spell at Middlesbrough in the Championship, the Gunners loaned him to Reims, where he scored 15 goals in 25 games. Given his background, he can play for USA, Nigeria or England on a national level (currently with the youth teams of England).

He has a price tag of €20m, per the report, and Milan are seriously evaluating him as he fits the bill perfectly.
