GdS: Why Milan are ready and willing to build a new stadium without Inter

AC Milan have decided that they want to build a new stadium on their own without Inter if they are forced to ditch the current plans, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Milan are getting frustrated with all of the bureaucratic delays that continue to push back the possible date that ground can be broken on the new project and they are therefore evaluating three alternative sites that would be easier to build on as they are either private land or under different administration.

Milan are desperate to build a new stadium, because in addition to the status symbol of having a state of the art home there is also the economic motivation. Milan are climbing back towards financial strength and today they have a solid ownership ready to put up the money needed for a new stadium.

These are conditions that are distant from Inter. The Oaktree fund are playing the same role with Suning that Elliott Management had with Li Yonghong in the past, thus waiting for their loan to be repaid otherwise they will own the shares.

The future remains to be written for the Nerazzurri, there is a lot of uncertainty, while Milan have already clearly traced their path and will go ahead without their neighbours.
