Massimiliano Allegri is expected to make quite a few changes to the starting XI for tomorrow’s Derby della Madonnina, compared to the 2-2 draw against Parma.

The international break has come to an end and Milan are ready to get back underway, having recovered some key players as well. Christian Pulisic is now back in full fitness, while Adrien Rabiot has been training with the squad since Tuesday.

As such, which was highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport, some changes are indeed expected to the starting XI for the big game. Fikayo Tomori will replace Koni De Winter at the back, while Adrien Rabiot will take Samuele Ricci’s spot in midfield.

Davide Bartesaghi is currently ahead of Pervis Estupinan for the left-back spot, having impressed at the start of this season (as opposed to the former Brighton man). Up front, Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic will start together for the first time in the league this season.

Shifting focus to Inter, Denzel Dumfries has been ruled out through injury and Carlos Augosto is expected to replace him. Yann Aurel Bisseck is also ahead of the experienced Francesco Acerbi for a starting spot at the back.

Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao.

Predicted Inter XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Augusto, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Thuram.

    1. I think Fofana because he puts a bit of fear in the opponent due to his strength. He is less gifted technically that Ricci, but he will hit you and it will hurt. I get frustrated watching him—”Good God, can’t you pass the ball accurately—but his presence can make up for a multitude of sins.

    2. The only answer I would give to Fofana or Ricci is trying to be more physical.
Ricci clearly is far superior technically.

    3. Allegri prefers Fofana. Maybe he believes Fofana is more useful than the experts do? Ricci hasn’t exactly played well either has he?

  1. If Bartesaghi plays, Pavlovic is going to need to have a stellar game, because Bartesaghi is awful in 1v1. Rabiot returning is going to help cover up Barte’s weaknesses though.

      1. Very good at 1v1? You are embarrasing yourself my friend…go back watch Juve match, watch the Roma game…terrible…on the other hand Milan were at the top of the league with Pervis starting and he was doing well until his injury. Another member of the echo chamber are you?

  2. Watching these incredibly dumb “experts” in this forum is hilarious. Fofana is the better all-rounder. Great tackler, great energy. Ricci………… still needs time to grow
