GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Fiorentina – Krunic to start after all

By Isak Möller -

Tonight’s clash against Fiorentina is a crucial one for AC Milan, who need to bounce back with a win after a tough period. Compared to the draw against Lecce, Stefano Pioli is set to make two changes to the starting XI.

There have been some conflicting reports regarding the XI in the last 24 hours. Sky Italia reported last night that Yunus Musah is expected to start in midfield. However, that might not be the case in the end, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below).

According to the pink newspaper, Rade Krunic will start after all alongside Tommaso Pobega and Tijjani Reijnders. The same midfield we saw against Lecce, in other words, and it’s likely that the Dutchman will have a more advanced role this time out as well.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Pobega, Krunic, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Jovic, Pulisic.

There aren’t many options in attack due to the absences, and so Pioli needs the backups to shine this evening. Christian Pulisic will undoubtedly be the leader in the attacking phase, playing in one of his favourite positions on the left.

The youngsters Francesco Camarda and Jan-Carlo Simic will also be on the bench, but it remains to be seen if any of them will be used.

  1. I laugh in Spanish when I first saw musah staring ahead of krunic…if anybody thought Pioli will start musah ahead of krunic is a big joke. Can’t do without him!

  2. Whenever we start a match with both Pobega and Krunic in our starting line up this season; the game always ends in either a draw or a lose.

  3. Even Pobega should play on the left side of midfield where he combined well with pulisic and scored during the preseason while rejndeers needs to play on the right like the Lecce match where he scored, but our great coach,as usual, has pressed his self-destructive button again

  4. pioli is clearly underestimating la Viola. This can be very bad for us.
Aside from that, this is a game we should and build up play, and who’ve we got as starters ? both Krunic and Pobega who can’t pass forward the save their lives.
I just don’t understand why doesn’t he start Adli again ? He didn’t do a mistake that Krunic can’t/didn’t do.

  5. This can’t be bad for AC Milan Giga94 but it be the end of Mr. Pioli, and I will be so glad because there will be a relief from the constant headaches I experience anytime I saw the official line up.

It will be a blessing in disguise if he packed his bags
    before the Dortmund game.

    1. I don’t see it that way. Even if we lose tonight, Pioli is not getting fired at least before mid-december to january. No one is sacking their coach 3 days before a crucial UCL game.
Beside, even though I always criticize pioli and always have a problem with the lineup, I can’t be glad if we lose. In the end what matters is winning, but that’s just me.

  6. I love watching people lose their sh!t over Krunic. It’s just funny to see. All this blame towards Krunic is so unwarranted when really that blame should go to management and Pioli who thought this was acceptable. They literally thought we didn’t need a proper DM in a system designed for a DM. Its not Krunic’s idea to start Krunic or have him as the main DM now is it?

    1. It would have been more acceptable if we didn’t have both Krunic and Pobega starting at the same time in a game where we must score (and thus create play and pass forward,…). And I still don’t understand why pioli has decided to burry Adli !!
And to be clair, the blame here is on pioli, not Krunic or Pobega.
      Hope this works tho.

      1. That second part there Giga blows my mind. Where the heck is Adli in all this 🤷‍♂️not even a consideration smh. You’d think he’d at least start ahead of Pobega. Ik not one for firing coaches but Pioli looks like he’s digging his own grave

  7. 😆. This idiot coach is trying to get sacked at this point. Krunic and Pobega together, Because that’s been successful never. The only player on the squad worse than Krunic is Pobega. Meanwhile Musah and Adli and RLC all of whom are better players are on the bench. Management need to have the guts to step in and stop this now. I’ve never rooted against Milan but it might be worth a blowout loss today to be finally done with this idiot coach.
