GdS: Yazici available to Milan for free – his history with Fonseca

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have the opportunity to sign Yusuf Yazici for free this summer and he is a player that Paulo Fonseca is known to admire from their time together at Lille.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turkish forward has been released by Lille at the end of his contract which means he could be an opportunistic signing for the Rossoneri.

Links have been made in the past and he performed well in 2023/24 under Fonseca’s guidance, He played 42 matches across all competitions and became very important, scoring 12 goals and getting four assists.

Given there would be no transfer fee to pay, the potential to sign him as a versatile depth option is attractive.

Yazici has been used as an attacking midfielder, a right winger, a central midfielder and a striker in the past two seasons with Lille and Trabzonspor, so he is exactly the sort of player who can be of use during a long season where there are plenty of games.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already spoken of ‘seizing opportunities on the market’ during the summer and given some of the other attacking targets are now not available, Yazici could fit into that category. At 27 years old, he is not an ageing player either.

  1. i will consider him the zirkzee we didn’t have to pay for. giving his salary demands the 15mil asked by Jia can cover Yazici wages for 4 good seasons at most 3mil plus add ons.

this is what i believe Fonseca should be hanging on the depart about.

if jovic can give 11-13 goals okafor 6-10 Yazici 4-5 that’s a total of 21-29goals that’s a bough depth giving leao and pulisic will always aim for the shots.

i won’t dispute the face that a healthy Rlc will register nothing less than 8-10goals.

and we still have a huge sum to buy what’s left on the market to reinforce that say department if need be.

i’m only trying to be on the same page with the journalist in a more realistic sense

    1. I think he is more like attacking midfielder , no pure 9. striker…but yes for me he is good player, he is not game changer, but deputy to RLC definitely. But if Fonseca don’t ask about him, I think our management don’t make a move to sign him. We already heve player and deputy almost on every positions…

  2. Moncada is not intelligent enough to sign such a player in Yazici.
He rather go for second tier players that cost next to nothing ” Money Ball”?

  3. Would prefer to get Bonaventura back on a free, would add good experience and quality to our attacking midfield areas. We are seriously lacking in experience and leadership, especially if they let Florenzi go, which would be really disappointing.

  4. Yazici is perfect for ACM.
He is free = Fits all criteria for our beloved and super ambitious club with a clear transfer strategy……

  5. Outside of a 9, which the Turk isn’t, we are pretty stacked up front. Yea, he is free, versatile and Fonseca’s pet, but where and when does he play?

Not on the wings, as we have backups. Not at the 10 because we will likely use combo of Reijnders/Puli.

And he uses up a NON-EU slot.

  6. Hahahahahaha!!! Of course we want this guy!!! He’s FREE!!! Mister “X”!!!!

Oh damn – does he have an agent? How much commission does the agent want? 500 EUROS???

Well then it’s a PASS – have to set those moral boundaries for those greedy agents! That will teach them.
