GdS: Yellow cards missing but referee did well overall in Milan-Lazio

By Isak Möller -

Davide Massa officiated the game between AC Milan and Lazio last night and did well overall, setting a high bar foul-wise and letting the play flow. However, there are a few things he could have done better.

Milan clinched all three points from the game after goals from Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor in the second half. In the first half, however, it was a very tight game and there were many physical duels to consider.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport this morning (via SempreMilan), Massa did well and received a 6/10 rating. In the first half, however, a few yellow cards were missing: Adli on Luis Alberto, Calabria on Zaccagni, Guendonzi on Reijnders, Zaccagni’s elbow on Calabria and Castellanos on Adli.

In the second half, Massa started to dish out the yellow cards and thus also established a good level in the game. Milan’s goals were both within the rules and Lazio’s 2-1 strike was correctly ruled out for offside on Ciro Immobile.
