GdS: Zenit come forward for €30m CSKA star – why Milan are confident in their waiting game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain keen on signing Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow but appear to have cooled their previously aggressive pursuit.

That is according to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) which confirms that Vlasic’s name is still very much on Milan’s wish list, but CSKA Moscow want no less than €30m to sell the Croatian international.

The start of the Russian season is imminent but the paper believes that Vlasic has a move to Milan very much on his mind, while neither the player nor CSKA have received other attractive proposals that could put the Rossoneri’s pursuit in difficulty.

Zenit have shown interest, but their rivalry with the Moscow club effectively prevents the move of CSKA’s best player. Milan are waiting patiently with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara ready to pounce under the right conditions, and their waiting game could see the asking price lowered.
