Rai: German side close to signing Milan target who Inter and Leeds also want

By Euan Burns -

German side Eintracht Frankfurt are said to be very close to signing Mateo Retegui from Boca Juniors despite the interest from AC Milan and other sides, a report claims.

As has been reported on Rai (via Area Napoli), the Argentina-born striker Retegui has been a target for many Italian clubs for a short while now.

The interest grew dramatically when he was called up to the Italy squad by Roberto Mancini for the games against England and Malta. The player on loan at Tigre scored twice across the two games.

Milan are in the market for a new striker, as are Inter and Premier League side Leeds United.

Despite that, it seems Eintracht Frankfurt are furthest ahead in the race as they need to replace the outgoing Randal Kolo Muani.

Retegui is 23 and unproven in Europe beyond his two goals in the Euro 2024 qualifiers in March but many coaches want him in their squads.

  1. Too complicated buy him. For 18m euro you only get 50% retegui and still need to negotiate with other half his owner. Just skip better give playtime our academy striker like colombo, camarda, nasti

    1. Camarda is only 14 years old and even donnarumma got a dispensation to play at the age of 16 so its not in the cards to happen for at least the next 3-4 years,
Anyways i dont mind the idea of us bringing back either colombo or nasti depending on how our finances are.

      1. i can see that camarda actually turned 15 a few days ago but still a serie a debut is propably still a few years away
