Getafe sporting director issues firm response to rumours of interest in Milan’s Suso

By Oliver Fisher -

Sporting director Angel Torres has ruled Getafe out of the race to sign AC Milan winger Suso during the January transfer window.

The Spaniard has not been in the starting XI for any of the Rossoneri’s last three fixtures, leading to intense speculation that his time at the San Siro may be coming to a close.

It was even reported last week by newspaper il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive.it) that the decision to part ways is mutual as Suso – having recently changed his agent – hopes to find a new club this month.

A return to Spain has been the most heavily touted option, with Alfredo Pedulla claiming that Getafe, Sevilla and Valencia have all enquired about the 26-year-old, who has one goal so far in all competitions this season.

However, Getafe sporting director Angel Torres has now pulled the Madrid-based club out of the running for Suso.

“Suso does not interest us,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb.com (via MilanNews.it).

“Suso is not one of the players we are evaluating. At the moment we are in fact complete, we have already done the market operations that we had to do and therefore we will not do anything else at the entrance. At most a central defender, since Cabrera today went to Espanyol.”
