Gila’s agent fuels rumours with Allegri praise and Milan comment: “One of the biggest clubs in the world”

AC Milan may have been given a boost in their pursuit of Lazio defender Mario Gila, thanks to comments from his agent.

Last night, Massimiliano Allegri was spotted leaving Casa Milan closely followed by Igli Tare. There was a three-hour meeting between the members of the management at the club’s headquarters, suggesting that things are moving along swiftly with regards to future planning.

One of the names that the Rossoneri are being most consistently linked with is Gila, who has been one of the best centre-backs in Serie A for some time. Sources have spoken of a verbal agreement over personal terms, yet the competition and having to deal with Claudio Lotito makes things tough.

Milan one of the biggest, Allegri one of the best

Gila’s agent Alejandro Camano spoke during an interview with PianetaMilan and he commented on the rumours linking his client with Milan, certainly not hiding a sense of flattery.

Can you comment on the numerous transfer rumours surrounding Gila’s future?

“Mario has another year left on his contract with Lazio. I can say that, respecting everyone’s work, none of what I’ve read applies. Milan are a very important team, and I’m delighted that one of my players is being linked to one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“It’s a source of pride for me, but I have to respect Lazio and this crucial moment of the season. Lazio has the Coppa Italia final against Inter ahead of them. The Coppa Italia is a trophy.

“I don’t talk to Milan, Juve, or any other team. If anyone wants to talk to Lazio, who own Mario’s contract. I’m only the player’s agent.”

Would working with Allegri for Gila represent a further step in his growth?

“Allegri is among the best coaches in the world. Especially those of us who work in football, in fact, know how much Allegri is worth. But for us, the one who is very, very important is the Lazio coach, who is his coach. For us, Sarri is one of the best in the world, because he is the Lazio coach.”

Regardless of what happens, doesn’t it fill you with pride that Gila is being linked with teams like Real Madrid, Milan, Napoli, Inter and Juventus?

“I repeat, I respect everyone’s work, but the reality is that Gila is a Lazio player. Mario has a contract until 2027, and now there’s the Coppa Italia final, which is a very important competition. Mario is proud to play for a team like Lazio, and right now we need to focus on that.”
