Tuttosport: Gila and Castro stand out as a Milan scout attended Bologna-Lazio

AC Milan are considering several players ahead of the summer, and until the window opens, it is unlikely that they will have a definitive list of players to sign.

Over the next few months, the whirr of the mercato will begin to go again, and Milan will be linked to several different players, often from different leagues and with different profiles. It is the joy of the summer.

Already, it has begun, too. According to reports, it would seem that Mateo Retegui is the top choice striker for the Rossoneri. However, he is not the only option there, and others will also be considered.

Scouting mission

As Tuttosport writes, via MilanNews, Santiago Castro is another option with high appeal. The Argentine striker was watched at the weekend – when Bologna faced Lazio – and relations are already quite positive between the clubs.

A €40 million asking price has been set by the Rossoblu, though it could be lowered. Ultimately, there are other options, too, so if the price isn’t right, they’ll go elsewhere.

Additionally, the interest in Mario Gila is not dying, despite the rumours of Premier League interest. He was another player of interest in this weekend’s scouting mission, and his situation could be favourable, given that he has already stated that he will not renew his contract in Rome.

He is available for between €20-25m, a bargain price in the current market. Indeed, the Diavolo are taking note.

  1. I’m sure doing business with Lotito wouldn’t be easy, but getting a player like Gila for this price shouldn’t be missed.

  2. I like seeing us considering proven serie a players. I’d give Pinamonti from Sassuolo a shout over Castro though. Valued around 15m, 26 yo, 6ft tall and good for double digits goals for the last few seasons at Sassuolo.
