Gimenez admits it would be ‘a dream’ to play for Boca Juniors: “I would like to”

The future has been a big topic for Santiago Gimenez this summer and he has also been thinking ahead, it seems, even if he does not want to leave AC Milan.

This summer, there has been a lot said about Gimenez and what Milan plan to do with the striker who arrived in January. Massimiliano Allegri lacks belief in the Mexican, and there have been suggestions that he could leave.

However, he has stated that he has no plans to leave and hopes to prove himself to Allegri when he returns from his holidays. Despite this though, he has been thinking about his future, as MilanNews relays.

“I would love to play here one day, it would be a dream.”

An understandable one, considering he was raised in Buenos Aires. It is also worth noting that this is probably an ambition for down the line, not anytime soon.

The situation

An exit this summer is quite unlikely, all things considered. The striker only moved to Italy a few months ago, and in that time his numbers were pretty decent. Of course, they could have been better, but he struggled with an injury at the start as well as coming into a pretty poor Rossoneri side.

In other words, he deserves a chance under the new coach. His record elsewhere and in Europe shows that his first six months may only be an anomaly.

    1. Its actually the other way around R as he was born In Argentina and his father is an Argentinian who also was a footballer but played in Mexico for Cruz Azul where Santiago also played so he could have chosen to play for the Argentine international team in stead.

        1. Yeah I’m sure he will come good not that he was ever really bad either. I do nevertheless think it would be great if we can add Vlahovic for the competition up front.

  1. Man if Allegri goes ahead with this new formation that he played against Liverpool, I don’t see Santi fitting in at all

  2. He’s really not that good. He needs good service, while we need a striker that can make his own opportunities. Milan only signed him because of the Mexican market. All of those jersey sales.

  3. I think he should stay and be given a chance, with modric in midfield more service could be provided to him
