Throughout the summer, several reports have suggested that Santiago Gimenez could leave AC Milan. It seems he won’t, though.
Over the past few months, a few different ideas have been discussed. Dusan Vlahovic, Rasmus Hojlund, perhaps even the pair joining together. However, this could have seen Gimenez leave the club, due to the team reaching capacity.

Instead, it looks difficult for either to arrive. Vlahovic has found a space in the Juventus team, whilst Hojlund is seemingly on his way to Napoli, after Romelu Lukaku’s injury. In other words, parting with Gimenez is no longer something to unlock, but rather a loss.
Gimenez stays
After his poor game this weekend, there may have been further doubts about his place. Nevertheless, reports still suggest that Massimiliano Allegri has no plans for him to depart, and the Mexican’s agent confirmed as much to Calciomercato.com last night.

“Gimenez isn’t going anywhere. All the rumours that have emerged, from the first to the last, are untrue. They’re fake news.”
Anything can happen at the end of the summer, but this seems pretty clear. Gimenez will stay.

Then he needs to seriously step it up and start moving his feet around.
He was decent last season. Adapting to a new coach and system every six months isn’t helping any player and Allegri’s tactics are particularly awful for forwards. Hopefully the next coach will help him get better.
