Santiago Gimenez admitted that he knew he was playing through an injury but wanted to do so in order to help AC Milan.
After spending several months out, Gimenez is finally back playing for Milan which means the attack is back to full health. The cameos off the bench against Torino and Napoli were a good way to try and get back up to speed, though Massimiliano Allegri is not expected to start him vs. Udinese.

An important last few games is coming up for the Mexican, not just because he wants to go into the home World Cup in the best possible form, but also because he must prove to the Rossoneri management that he shouldn’t be sold this summer even if another No.9 arrives.
Playing through pain
Gimenez was the star of Radio TV Serie A’s ‘ATuPerTu’ programme and he revealed a bit about the extents he was willing to go to in order to try and help Milan.
“It was a difficult period, especially because I was so happy to be able to play a full season from the start. In the early days, I was always a starter, and whether we were first or second, I was on the pitch but I was struggling,” he said (via MilanNews).
“My desire to represent Milan pushed me to play while injured, but at a certain point my body took its toll. The results of the tests required surgery, but my family, team, and teammates were there for me, and today I feel stronger than ever.”
