MN: ‘Moment of truth’ – Gimenez hoping for March return with Milan goal in mind

It seems next month will be the one for Santiago Gimenez, and the Mexican certainly has high hopes for what could be at AC Milan.

This season, Gimenez has struggled, and that was immediately clear. However, it took until the Atalanta game for it to be addressed. A scan turned into a set-back and that turned to surgery and a few months sidelined.

Now, he is looking to return with confidence and perhaps alter the route laid out for him.

Gimenez’s goal

Reports earlier suggested that a specialist check-up would be key to Gimenez’s return later this season, and it seems that he could be back as early as next month, as MilanNews writes this evening.

Massimiliano Allegri is hoping for something concrete about when he can return, and until then, not much can be done. However, when he is once again available, the mission will start, with the next few months being deemed a ‘moment of truth’.

Indeed, for Gimenez, he wants to prove that he is capable to lead the Rossoneri forward, the club of his heart.

Performances will need to be consistent, as will his place in the starting XI, but both parties seem hopeful of what can happen. After all, he is still a young striker with potential, if he can start firing again, it could change the course for the mercato in more than one way.
