Santiago Gimenez seems likely to leave AC Milan this summer, with the Mexican’s path with the club never really showing any progress.
When it seemed Milan were on their way to signing Gimenez, there was a lot of excitement among fans. The club were signing a proper striker with experience in the Champions League with potential to grow even further.

What made the signing better was his love for the Rossoneri. It seemed that they were going to be led forward by one of their own.
However, he has done little leading. His first games were promising, but he has failed to really impress since then. In fact, he has failed to impress, full stop, let alone really impress.
Gimenez’s future admission
With suggestions about his future swirling for a third successive mercato, Gimenez was asked about what next season entails and his answer was not very revealing, as you’d probably imagine. Speaking to TV Azteca, via Calciomercato.com, he kept his cards close to his chest.
“The agreement we [Gimenez and his agent] made was to leave everything in his hands, those of my agent, and not to talk to me about anything, at least while I’m here with my national team.
“After the World Cup, we’ll see what happens, but the agreement was this: not to bring up the subject during the World Cup. For now, this possibility doesn’t keep me awake at night. I’m totally focused on the World Cup.
“These are things you experience very rarely in life, six at most, as we’re seeing today. But I think they’re unique moments, which I want to make the most of, and I don’t want to be distracted by things that aren’t even in my hands.
“I feel like I want to leave everything in God’s hands too; I’ll just focus on what I have to do and that’s it.”
