AC Milan could have ended the summer mercato without their €30 million January investment, Santiago Gimenez.
There is something about the Gimenez situation which just doesn’t sit right. In the winter mercato, the club opted to spend a large sum on the Mexican striker, but since his arrival, he’s had two coaches and several different systems.

Clearly, he has the talent to play for Milan, he would not have been bought if not. However, he is equally as frustrating with some things, as we have already seen this season. Whether this is a case of quality or no-confidence, though, will only be seen in the next few months.
Given Artem Dovbyk, or another Massimiliano Allegri-liked striker, did not arrive yesterday, the pressure on Gimenez’s shoulders may have increased tenfold. However, pressure sometimes makes diamonds.
Gimenez to Chelsea: Never on
Whilst it seemed Roma were the only club trying for the striker, reports suggested that Premier League outfit Chelsea were sniffing yesterday, but Fabrizio Romano has shut down that idea, as MilanNews relays.
“Santiago Gimenez is staying at Milan, despite the openness in the final hours of the transfer window. The Mexican was never an option for Chelsea, while he had given Roma a complete opening.”
Like I said yesterday. Di Marzio literally lying to get more engagement and boost his profile and website. It was obvious, half of the things he wrote in the past few days were from his imagination. 🤣
The lies have gone on all summer, as if to put Milan at the point where they have brief the press on who they are interested in and all it does is tarnish the signings we do make.
If we were told that we would get: Ricci, Modric, Jashari, Rabiot and Nkunku before the transfer window opened, most of the Milan fans would be overjoyed, especially if we knew Mike and Leao were staying and we would get rid of nearly all the cancerous dead wood (some of whom we got good money for like Thaiw, Okofor,Musah and so on).
But the press make derogatory comments about our windows and a lot of our fans get taken in and become over critical, yes another striker would be nice but give Santi a full season let’s see what he can, a centre back would be good, but maybe just maybe De’Winter will flourish.

i really like this striker. he needs to shape up, get in form and be a killer like pippo was. he has the chance this season only to make us believe.
