AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez’s agent has reportedly been ‘given the mandate’ to bring offers to the table from other clubs.
As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report this morning, Milan are close to finalising the deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface. The last details still to be completed before everything goes through, but crucially he might not be the only striker to arrive.

Massimiliano Allegri wants a center forward with different characteristics than Santiago Gimenez and this doesn’t mean they won’t make a late attempt for Sporting CP’s young talent Conrad Harder, valued at around €25 million.
What does this mean for Gimenez? Well, the paper claims that his agent Rafaela Pimenta has been given the mandate to bring in offers higher than €28m for the Mexican centre-forward, who arrived at Milan from Feyenoord in January.
Nicolo Schira adds: “As revealed two months ago, Santiago Gimenez is not untouchable for Milan, who could open the door to his sale if a bid from €30m and up arrives.”

Gimenez’s words
In our recent Devil’s Advocate column, we wrote at length about why it would be a bad idea to cast Gimenez aside. The player himself seemed to offer some reassurance too in a press conference with the national team over the summer.
“I feel at home in Milan, I’m living a dream, I thank God for giving me the chance to be in such a big team as Milan,” he told the reporters present.
“I think there were a lot of rumours that I could leave, but I’m very happy there. I spoke with the management, with the coaching staff, and the idea is that I stay. I will try to show my best version, because I don’t want to waste an opportunity like this.”

If the above is to be believed, then I guess my theory on why we’re looking for 2 new strikers instead of one is correct.
It seems Allegri isn’t impressed by Giménez and that the new striker isn’t just here as a sub but rather as the main starter. And now in addition to that, he wants another player to sub for our “new” striker.
no one has been impressed by Gimenez. Slow, hides behind defenders in the box, takes an extra month off for vacation with the new coach and hoping to retain his spot. didn’t impress at all in the Coppa or preseason games–a clean up goal and easy assist (chance created and finished by Pulisic)…
Can anyone explain (using some amount of logic)
a. What role a striker in Allegri’s system plays
b. What Gimenez doesn’t do that Allegri needs?
Spot on. I am beginning to believe it’s all media stuff but lets see how it plays out. Milan has limited competition yet is looking for more than 1 new striker. Something is not adding up.
On the one hand, I’ve had the same thought as you (media nonsense), but actions speak louder than words, and it was noticeable that we started with Leao and Pulisic as the strikers in a two striker setup, even though Gimenez was fit enough to replace Leao and play 70+ minutes.
Am reading hes asked to leave. Doesn’t get on with Allegri.
Shame as I think a full season he’d actually do quite well here.
To me, Gimnez is very good and very ready so there is no need of keeping him on the bench, unless if Max is been bias, but the guy have all its take to be a starter in this very Milan team.
That’s a huge mistake. Keep him here. Forget about that Harder clown that isn’t even a starter for his own club.
Boniface and Gimenez are plenty.
Giminez deserves to be treated better. This guy is trying. He’s only been with us for 6 months.
Gimenez is good striker, and he need to be served well. Like Inzaghi type.
Players should be treated with some respect. Santi came in January when Milan were on a downward trajectory. Our season was over. This Mexican was eager to join inspite of Milan’s poor season. He came in and contributed. I have come to respect Rasmus Hojlund. He needed some sort of certainty that is why he didn’t want to leave United to another club on loan,it should be permanent move so he knows he can grow there. Football Clubs must be patient with players and allow them to adapt and fit in. They tend to be ina rush to get rid of players if the season turns out bad.
Very wierd to sell him after 6 months. He at least needs to be given a chance given the state of the team last season and his injuries.
6 months? This is the new Milan. Oh man you should have been here in January
Considering he moved to a far harder league (for attackers) and still managed to get decent goal contribution ratio with limited minutes he’d deserve a proper chance. Are they absolutely 100% sure that Boniface will do better than him? How about FasterHarderScooter?
Sorry to say but Gimenez is the one out of the 3 to most likely succeed this season. A mistake to sell him. He’s a goal scorer who doesn’t need 10 chances to score (like Morata did). Keep him. Let him show what he can do.
Gimenez is not what we need, we need a striker that can score for every game
And who is that exactly?
Nevermind the reality like transfer fees, wages, lack of Champions League, who exactly do you have in mind?
38 goals per season would be impressive indeed 😎
Doesn’t every club have those players? 🤔
And I hear you can get them for like 5-10M too.
5-10m? They’re practically giving them away for free from what I heard
So we need Holland? Easy man c is probably board of him anyway easy deal
or at least a striker with size and speed — a guy like that could help in other aspects improving the team…not slow Gimenez who hides in the box
I always score if players sent me ball. Just look at Gimenez i dont know why, but players dont gave ball for him.
They dont try make him scorer.Just carefull watch games and you will see about what i talk.
dude.. u need take rest from FM
IF this is true, then I don´t like it. We shouldn´t be the kind of club that buys and sells too fast. In my eyes, that is a sign of poor management, like the way Chelsea (though on a much larger scale) does things. In the Bari game he linked up so well with Pulisic and assisted the American´s goal. If we get Boniface, I think those two will do.
Just stupid report.
Hope this is false reporting. Hope that Milan doesn’t get too arrogant and discard players that haven’t had a full season to prove themselves. There are total failures like Emmerson but he was given a decent chance game after game. Let’s afford Giminez the same chance and decide at the end of the season. There are no guarantees with Boniface (adaptation, injuries scares, etc) and the last thing you need is another new player as his sub. Not wise at all.
Boniface only loan + option to buy and he has injury history. I feel Santi still the no 1 Milan striker… Milan won’t buy any striker thats why Boniface only for loan coz next season maybe santi+ camarda would be Milan main strikers
He has only played half a season with us.
Surely he deserves another season at the very least.
Show some respect to your own player, it’s not like he was a flop.
And i can’t seem to see which club need an “expensive” striker this late of the window.
Maybe Newcastle if Isak goes to Liverpool?
They should just focus on selling adli bennacer chukuweze and musah instead of gimenez.
Bad decision hopefully not true
Let’s bet if Gasperini takes him, he will make a new Retegui. Allegri does not like strikers. He never created a striker in his life.
Leave gimenes at least one whole year so he can prove himself he is a great foward and Milan knows so what is the point selling him and being another centre forward????
Gimenez is not Milan worthy. I said many times earlier that we should have kept Jovic and give him more chances to play constantly. Instead portugese coaches both gave many more chances to Camarda who at theend scored zero goals and had zero assists. Jovic was injured, then treated as the last option even though he came from Real Madrid and had much richer experience than Camarda and many other strikers at ACM. But he was left out of the UCL squad. That’s no way to treat such an experienced and talented player. It would never happen in the Galliani and Berlusconi era. And yet, when they gace Jovic a chance to play – he delivered, he scored, he created. Btw, he is already scoring in Greece for AEK. Camarda not scoring for Lecce again and Gimenez is now approved to leave. If that’s not a BAD management than I don’t know what it is…
Luka Jovic 😂😂😂😂 is it you Luka this?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Media bs, nothing more. We’re thread bare up top as it is. He’s going nowhere
With Hojlund going to Napoli, Harder to Rennes, Okafor sold, Krstović to Atalanta, Jackson likely going to Aston Villa, and Vlahovic out of reach with his 12 M salary, there’s hardly anyone else in the market, so now I doubt that Milan will release Gimenez. Which, for me, is a good thing because Gimenez deserves more than a 6-month tenure.
I would like him to stay with us.
And moreover, are they suitors awaiting him?
