Gimenez over the moon after making World Cup debut: “I dreamed of this”

Santiago Gimenez got to make his World Cup debut a few days ago, coming off the bench against South Korea, and he was over the moon afterwards.

In Mexico’s first game of the tournament (the win against South Africa), Gimenez didn’t even get a single minute of playing time. Seeing as the win was secured rather comfortably, that raised concern for some Milan fans, especially since the striker needs a confidence boost.

Luckily, however, Gimenez got to make his World Cup debut in the second game. Mexico managed to see out a 1-0 lead against South Korea, and the Milan man came off the bench in the 80th minute. Not that he had a huge impact or anything, but just getting the time was crucial.

Gimenez celebrates big debut

On his X page, Gimenez published a message about the achievement, stating that it’s something he has been waiting for his whole life.

“I dreamed it, I asked for it, I worked for it, and God made it a reality.

“Debut ✔️ Victory ✔️ Advance to the Round of 16 ✔️.

“More united than ever, LET’S GOOOOO MEXICOOOOO!!! 🇲🇽❤️‍🔥.

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Matthew 21:22 NIV,” he wrote.
