Santiago Gimenez’s move to AC Milan is beginning to look likely, as the club have agreed a deal with the striker this afternoon.
In the past 18 months, there has been constant talk of a big-money striker joining AC Milan, and Gimenez’s name has been prominent throughout. The Mexican has intrigued the Rossoneri, and with summer choices not excelling, investment is needed urgently.
For this reason, the chances of a January arrival are possible, and with each day, an arrival seems more likely. However, the biggest steps have seemingly been made today.
Earlier today, reports suggested that the Diavolo were preparing to send their first official bid to Feyenoord, even though hypothetical sales are now not possible, which shows that the club are serious about their interest.
Now, Sky Sport (via Milan Press) report that an agreement has been found with the star, and so the ‘ball will be passed’ to the clubs to reach an agreement.
Gimenez, as the report suggests, will now put pressure on Feyenoord to let him move in January to Milan, although they would ideally like to keep the striker until June. However, it seems that his mind has been made up, so things could move quickly.
If the contract is really until 2027 it’s just dumb… 2028 summer at least, better until 2029
Agreed. It makes no sense. After one season we’d already be in the final contract year, with the player potentially asking for a big salary increase and no leverage in the market to recover what is shaping up to be Redbird’s most expensive purchase to date.
Milan should st least give him long time contract..
If they are so convinced that he is the right man they should give him a 4,5 year contract to the summer of 2029 to spread out the amortization as much as is allowed. Would also make him more expensive for other clubs to buy from Milan if he’s a huge success.
I agree with you 💯
Wow dang 2.5 years, Milan don’t really believe in his capabilities then.
I’m starting to imagine a scenario where Gimenez arrives now, and Joao Felix arrives in the summer. It would allow Conceicao to shift to his preferred 4-4-2, with Tijji and Fofana in the middle, Leao on the left, Puli on the right, Felix as the second striker and Gimenez leading the line. Leao-Gimenez-Felix-Pulisic is a very exciting attack on paper. Could be the best in Serie A.
Yeh amazing attack – finally. If this happens I’ll be bouncing off the walls like a pinball.
Pinball the greatest game in the world after football 🙂
I know Felix has his haters but I think there’s a good player in there. I’d be happy with those moves. And we have our defensive st Morata off the bench to protect leads 😂
Kai god bless you guy sense I swear
Also with Walker on Pulisic ‘S SIDE …..Puli’s numbers will increase !!!!!!!
If it is really 2.5 years contract maybe the player just sees Milan as temporay club to excel his career. Or maybe our clown managament once again as hundred times before they don’t know what they are doing.
When you sign a player on a long contract you spread his cost over those years and in our case minimize the impact on FFP where we are still under special observation until 2026.
So I don’t buy into this 2,5 year contract bs.
Thanks Ted exacly what I tried to say in another article about this suggested short contract. Simply doesn’t make any sense to me that we would offer such a short contract.
All of the sudden we are all transfer experts and master negotiaters, with fee analysts.
Ehat would comments be if the news was he got a 5 year deal at 5M per year?
I don’t believe there’s much truth in this, and even if he has agreed terms (which would no way be a 2.5yr deal) then I don’t see any circumstance in which Feyenoord think it’s worth selling this window instead of waiting for summer… Why would they?
Oboy 4=4=2 uhm mike -gabia -thiw- theo
