Giornale: Calhanoglu and Hernandez were false positives yesterday – the background

By Isak Möller -

When Hakan Calhanoglu and Theo Hernandez didn’t take part in Milan’s training session yesterday, the fans started to get very worried. However, no official statement arrived from the club and the duo is available again.

According to today’s edition of Il Giornale, as cited by MilanLive, Calhanoglu and Hernandez didn’t train yesterday because they both had positive COVID results in the quick test carried out. As per the protocol, they went home.

However, they turned out to be false positives, as the molecular test carried out showed that they didn’t have COVID. Therefore, the important duo will take part in today’s training session ahead of the Cagliari clash on Monday.

Should the Rossoneri win, then they will be the winter champions in Serie A. Roma lost last night and Inter will take on Juventus tomorrow, meaning Stefano Pioli’s men could potentially widen the gap to their city rivals on Monday evening.
