Giornale: Milan expected to loan out Primavera full-back after agreeing renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Andrea Bozzolan has agreed a contract renewal with AC Milan and the management now plan to send him out on loan, according to a report.

Today’s edition of Il Giornale (via MilanNews) writes that Bozzolan has renewed his contract with the Rossoneri until 2027 and will now go on loan so he can play consistently and continue his growth.

Bozzolan was one of the staples of Ignazio Abate’s side last season as they went on a run to the UEFA Youth League semi-finals for the first time in club history, beating the likes of Chelsea, Red Bull Salzburg and Atletico Madrid.

Last season, the 19-year-old played 36 games for the Primavera across the various competitions, amassing six assists. Five of those came in the league, with one in the Youth League.

There had been some talk about a potential promotion to be the deputy to Theo Hernandez, but it seems the management want to manage him carefully.

  1. Deputy for Theo is tricky, a young player would either get very few minutes or – in the case of a serious injury to Theo- be thrown in too big a role.

    1. Yes, I can agree but you still have Florenzi that covered that position so Ballo-Toure doesn’t have to play. On that point, I’ve just read that Kerkez joined Lazio. We could have already had a player for that but Pioli miss manages good young players unfortunately, I’m sure he could give them a few last 10 minutes or more in the cup.

      1. From what I remember Kerkez mention that he wanted to play regularly when he left Milan. And we can’t give him that. He was 18? Good at Primavera but you can’t have him start before Theo regularly.

He went to AZ that more likely to give him chances to play and he grab the chance.
