Giornale: Real Madrid and Man City ask for information on Milan star

Real Madrid and Manchester City are both contemplating a move for AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez but the Frenchman is still keen to stay with the Rossoneri.

As reported by Il Giornale (via Milan News), two of Europe’s wealthiest clubs are interested in Hernandez which is immediate cause for concern given how important he is to the Rossoneri.

Whilst it has become commonplace for Rafael Leao to be at the centre of transfer speculation each season, it is actually Hernandez and Mike Maignan who seem to be the most desirable elements of Milan’s squad this summer.

Milan have been working on a contract renewal for Hernandez throughout the season but a deal has not yet been struck, with the salary being the sticking point. His current deal is not up until 2026 so Milan can charge a lot for him this summer.

Hernandez still wants to stay at Milan this summer and is discussing the new contract openly, but a player of his quality will not wait forever and there is serious interest in him.

Hernandez has been the most reliable element of the defence in the past year, playing 46 times last season and he also scored five goals in the process.

  1. Give the man what he deserves, he could easily make 3xtimes what he’s asking for elsewhere. If Davies can get 18M a season we can at least compensate a loyal soldier and arguably the best on the world in his position with a decent salary. Without him we lose Leao as well imo

    1. Davies’ salary is before tax but it’s still around the region of what Their should be paid in Milan. If not more. He is the symbol of Milan’s project AND the best left back in the world.

      A unique package

    1. Yea we don’t really need an Inter fan telling Milan fans where one of our most important players should go to

    2. I bet they’d love to move him back inside though and given that Theo is great going forward and a pretty decent register type CB, he absolutely fits city’s fluid defence – I’m honestly surprised it’s taken this long for their name to come up.

Pay the man and keep these perennial spendthrifts at bay!!!!

I’m smart enough to know you can’t just disregard you wage policy, and it’s logical ours has been conservative for a while now, but surely now we have to loosen the reigns a little.

      1. Yeah MC could opt for that too, time will tell. Theo’s quality is undoubtable, and he could be a starter at any team.
I agree with the salary thing. He is a top player, and has to be paid as such. The salary he is asking for is at the lower end of the salary range for players of his quality. His bro at PSG is making way more.

  2. He’d be more inclined to go to Madrid than Bayern. But he still has a LOT of football left in those legs. Milan would be wise to renew him at close to Leao numbers. One of my most favorite players at Milan.

  3. I don’t think there’s a bigger consensus amongst Milan fans – we all love Theo. The real symbol of the new Milan, and among the top 3 LBs in the world.

    1. Yeah. I don’t think I’ve seen a single one “sell him” comment on this site yet. Give the man what he wants and lock him in for 5-7 years (with option for 2) 😀
