Giornale: The reason why Milan have put Kamada’s arrival on standby

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are still yet to confirm the signing of Japanese attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada and there is a concerning reason as to why as far as he is concerned, a report claims.

As has been reported by Il Giornale (via Milan News), Milan have had the agreement in place for personal terms with Kamada for a long time and he would be joining the club on a free transfer after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt.

The reason he has not yet been signed officially is that Milan can only register one more new non-EU player after the arrival of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

They would rather see if signing Samuel Chukwueze for the right wing from Villarreal is viable before they commit to Kamada and use up that registration spot.

It is a delicate situation though as if Chukwueze is not attainable, Kamada could have already decided to move elsewhere so that his future is secured.

    1. They are going to ditch Vasquez and one more non-EU to accomodate RLC and one more non-EU.

The limit of sigining non-EU from abroad is 2 and it can’t be increased in any way.

As the number of non-EU contracted to Milan last season was already 5 (more than 2), to buy 2 non-EU from abroad, Milan need to sell 2 non-EU abroad.

    1. Yes, Kamada, Traore, and Pulisic. Use the additional budget from Chuk to get a decent striker. Remember that we haven’t solved that issue since last year.

    1. Completely. We could have found an EU midfielder for similar price to RLC.

Kamada on a free with reasonable wages is great value, and Chukwueze is a solution to our problem RW position. They should both have been prioritised over RLC

  1. It was maldini/massara who arranged the kamada deal …. so for cardinale and company the deal must be bamboozled to show who is the boss!!!!

    1. RLC was M&M target as well, even since last season. That’s why Maldini’s dismissal was never about technical aspect.

  2. I am not sure why they haven’t sold Messias yet. This is becoming comedic at best, they are going to let Kamada just wait and wait and wait for what. Thinking when they have failed to sign any of their targets it will be still there waiting…

    1. Because you’ve got to find a buyer. Either way, they don’t need to sell him before they can sign someone else anyway, just before the season starts.

  3. Kamada over Chuk – any time, any second any hour. We can find an EU RW. It is very difficult to find an AM that wouldnt cost too much.

    1. and what you fail to understand is Milan isnt gonna play with an AM next season but go in keep on thinking Kamada is some sort of amazing talent that everyone wants

    2. Picking Kamada over Chukwueze is proof that this fanbase doesn’t deserve anything good anyway. Chuk is a great winger in the position that we need the most, and Kamada is just an average player that we don’t need whatsoever, especially if we buy someone like Pulisic.

  4. Honestly, looking at what Kamada numbers, it is a no-brainer to let him pass. But then I remember this Milan management sold Tonali and dumped Maldini and all gets in its place lol
