Ahead of the game between AC Milan and Lazio, which will kick off in less than 20 minutes, Olivier Giroud spoke to the media about the task at hand. The Rossoneri need to claim all three points tonight.
Inter won their game against Roma last night and the pressure is thus on Milan to respond, more or less in need of a win to keep the Scudetto dream alive. It should be noted, though, that Champions League will be secured with a draw.
Speaking to MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Giroud shared his thoughts on the loss against Inter mid-week and the support of the fans. In fact, there are over 10k Milan fans at the Olimpico this evening, which is impressive.
How successful have you been in converting anger into energy?
“We have to hate defeat: we want to use it to win today. We are so determined to win today, for our fans and make them proud. We have to play with confidence, enthusiasm and a free mind.”
On the fans at the Olimpico…
“We are proud to have so many fans even today at the Olimpico, we must do everything to make them proud to be AC Milan fans. I can’t wait for the match to start.”
On his important goals…
“In important matches, I always want to be here to help the team and score goals. Tonight we want to give 120%, we don’t want to think too much but just give our all and play our football well. We have shown it many times this year, we want to do it again today.”
As said, Milan need to claim all three points as Inter have a game in hand. Winning the last five games might not even be enough for Pioli’s men, but they will have to hold up their end of the bargain nevertheless.
