CorSport: Giroud to meet Milan after World Cup final – a mutual desire exists

AC Milan will soon sit down with Olivier Giroud to discuss a renewal that the striker has very much earned through his work over the past 18 months, a report claims.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, the renewals of the best players remain one of the main priorities of the Rossoneri management for the coming months, but it does not just refer to Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer.

Giroud will also sit at a table with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to discuss extending his current deal which will expire at the end of the season. At 36 years old, the Frenchman is in stellar condition as his exploits at the World Cup have shown.

The sensations regarding a renewal agreement are very positive on both sides. Olivier is feeling good at Milan, a team that has revived his career and given him a second great chance in the national team, while he feels like a dressing room leader too.

Once the World Cup is done – hopefully with Giroud as a world champion once again – the meeting will take place and a deal could be struck quickly.
