Giroud pledges to try get Denmark through: “If I can help my friend Simon, I will”

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud has pledged to try and do his bit to help AC Milan team-mate Simon Kjaer and his nation Denmark into the knockout stages of the World Cup.

Giroud’s France came out on top in the battle between the two sides in Qatar last night as a Kylian Mbappe brace saw them come out on top against the Danes, winning 2-1 to secure progress into the last 16 with a game to spare.

Denmark therefore have just one point from their opening two group games and yet they are still not out of the tournament. They must beat Australia though and hope for a favour from Les Bleus against Tunisia.

Giroud spoke to the microphones of Danish outlet bold.dk after the game and he insisted that he and his team-mates will try do their bit to help Kjaer’s men get through with them into the next round.

“We will definitely try to win, and if I can help my friend Simon, I will. We always play to win,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).
