Matteo Moretto has confirmed that Olivier Glasner has a ‘good chance’ of becoming the new head coach of AC Milan.
Two weeks on from the managerial clean-out that took place after the final game of 2025-26, Milan have still not made any hires to fill the vacancies. It seems that the bulk of talks have been with Glasner and Ralf Rangnick, the latter being the main option to take over as technical director.

However, given that we are now on June 8 and time is ticking by quickly, decisions are needed soon. There has been speculation about Feyenoord approaching Glasner after sacking Robin van Persie, which makes things more urgent for Milan.
Glasner the ‘hottest trail’
Matteo Moretto provided an update on his YouTube channel in which he confirmed new talks with Rangnick took place over the weekend, and also added a bit about Glasner. His words are via MilanNews.
“Glasner is one of Rangnick’s top names. This is the most popular combination at the moment . Glasner has given Milan top priority, he knows he has a good chance of becoming the new Rossoneri coach and therefore everything else takes a back seat,” he said.
“Both Planes and Pochettino’s last contacts with Milan date back to the beginning of last week. In the next few hours, Milan will also contact other coaches, but at the moment the hottest trail is the one that leads to Glasner.”
I think they should seal the deal on Glasner, but skip Ragnick. With Ragnick i dont think this teams will see champions league for years

Rubbish. His model is to develop players for small clubs in order to compete with big clubs. The objective is the same – to win. If Rangnick is successful in developing players for an iconic club like Milan, they’ll only be sold for huge fees. The money goes back into the club and new players are signed.
It seems that this has become too difficult for Ibra and Cardinale to pick a manager for the team. The track record for Glasner is well documented and if they are looking for a miracle manager then they are going to stuff up the selection. It seems the same ideology that has been in place for the last 3 years will guarantee the same disaster in waiting.
What other options…? Because nobody wants pochettino anywhere near the club, and certainly nobody wants any pick that ibra is trying to push on us. Weve already been told to shut it by iraiolo and Xavi, so Glasner is the obvious option for both availability and who will actually say yes to this circus. One can only hope the constant No’s theyve been receiving has knocked their egos down a peg and made them realize nobody is gonna walk into this mess unless their given very specific allowances
Iraola had a better offer, Liverpool. No one talks for 5 days unless they’re serious. Xavi hasn’t coached in years and no one is linked with him. Had he gone to another club, you’d have a point. Yes, there’s too much off field drama and leaks to the press, but Cardinale is fully aware of how Mickey Mouse it makes the club look. They are going to try to fix it. Hopefully they get it right.

Glasner, I think is going to fail. This one I’m not sure, I might be wrong on this.
