AC Milan must start making some final decisions regarding their new management this week, with Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner waiting.
La Gazzetta dello Sport write that Milan’s week of big calls begins today. After numerous discussions described as ‘in-depth and involving high-level personnel’, the time has come to make decisions, particularly regarding who be the director(s) and the head coach.

It’s no secret that Glasner has put Milan at the top of his list of preferences, and after a lengthy meeting with Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Tuesday, he hopes to be chosen. Rangnick would also be happy to join Milan, but he wants full powers with no interference to take the job.
Ambition and timelines
During the meeting with the RedBird founder and Ibrahimovic, the former Crystal Palace manager analysed many aspects of himself and Milan, both past and future. He introduced himself after watching – along with members of his staff – several matches from last season.
He thus gained a clear idea of the squad and the players who are suited to his style of play, which is very different from Massimiliano Allegri’s. Like Rangnick – who recommended him for the role – Glasner prefers a style of football characterised by pressure and intensity.
The Austrian clearly adapts it to the squad he has at his disposal, and with Eintracht and Palace he also had to be a little more cautious than he would have liked. With Milan, however, he is confident he can bring an attacking mentality and more front-foot football.
He too, however, is aware that it will take time, as his teams typically struggle in the first few months before they can acquire the right pace. His history speaks for itself, with his results and league standings having improved over the years. It is a way to make it clear he might need support.
On this point, Cardinale seems to have clear ideas and a clear desire to support the coach he chooses. This concept was conveyed without hesitation, as he has ‘burned through’ four coaches since the spring of 2024.
Over to Milan
Glasner is confident that he’ll receive another call soon, perhaps as early as today, for an online meeting or even another face-to-face chat. He believes Milan is the ideal club for him to take a leap forward in his career, to challenge for the league title after winning four trophies at previous clubs.
Then there’s Rangnick, who’s waiting for a signal from Milan, but for the role of technical director. He doesn’t want the wait to drag on much longer, especially given he has a World Cup to embark on with Austria. He’s also explained the project he has in mind.
It’s a project that requires his own people, from scouting to the youth teams, including a coach with his own vision of football (Glasner more than Jaissle) and a sporting director who will carry out his instructions until Austria are in contention for the World Cup (Johannes Spors is the favourite).
Milan have also spoken with Devin Ozek, released after stints at Leverkusen and Fenerbahce, so he is another name that could enter the fold. Either way, the time to make some actual decisions has arrived.
I prefer Conte. but if Rangnick or Glasner so definitely Glasner. Rangnick sounds like joke.

Ralf Rangnick would the Technical Director not Sports Director. There’s a difference. The Technical Director chooses the Sport Director and is responsible for the youth team setup.
Ralf Rangnick is not asking Milan for anything special that his role doesn’t cover. The exception is that he wants no interference from anyone to build the build the club project from the ground up. That’s where Milan is having a problem.
If Cardinale is intelligent he would give Rangnick what he’s asking for.
They would never satisfy what conte wants. With ragenik he can make milan profitable and make redbird money, the faster they make thier money the faster they will sell

The only decisive thing Cardinale has done in recent times was to fire people…it almost come naturally to him. Not so much putting the project together with the right elements. Lets hope they will do the right thing this time around. Glasner is available, no negotiating with another team to release him. What is the point of waiting…

You do know why Glasner is leaving Palace though, right?
It is because of the sale of the good players, and not adequate replacements.
I may be slightly biased because I don’t like 3-at-the-back systems at all.
Glasner is a good manager, but, I am not sure he is the guy to push us forward (at least while Redbird is the management with the awful transfer strategies).
Thank you for that Glasnyjs Good but not For Acmilan, Arbeloa can achieve greater success in acmilan one of the major reason is because he has champions league experience which is versertile and important. So Acmilan should remove Glasner from the list.
Arbeloa? Lmao, he won nothing as a manager compared to Glasner. Seedorf, Inzaghi, Gattuso all won as players both domestic and global. Where are they now as managers?

The only news that are slightly interesting to the fans are the ones about the ownership and the stadium (two are intertwined). The rest is pretty meaningless at this point. Does anyone seriously believe that we will be fighting for trophies or even top 4 next season, no matter who we hire? We are talking about the worst management in the history of the game, that means every day, every hour, every minute they’re capable of doing something ridiculous, from horrible transfers to locker room meddling. Best case scenario is Glasner who will be just another victim of the toxic environment, Fans still being enthusiastic about him are simply naive. It will be another s&&tshow.
