Goal: Milan and Juve ponder swap deal involving duo on expiring contracts – the latest

Milan have started to make their plans for next season and although they haven’t secured Champions League yet, Paolo Maldini knows what needs to be done. And it seems a swap deal could take place, a report claims.

According to Goal Italia, the Rossoneri are considering a swap deal with Juventus to get their hands on Federico Bernardeschi, while also solving the situation of Alessio Romagnoli. Both will expire in 2022 and a swap could be the right solution.

Milan are yet to reach an agreement with Mino Raiola on the renewal of the centre-back’s contract and the same goes for Juventus with Bernardeschi. Although the figures need to be analysed, the idea of a swap entices both clubs, at least that’s the feeling.

It should also be considered that Roma are entitled to 30% of whatever the Rossoneri get over €25m for Romagnoli, which could affect the structure of the deal. Having said that, they are not lacking reasons for the operation.

The Bianconeri would get a younger centre-back as Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini aren’t exactly getting any younger, while Milan would close a gap on the right flank. Furthermore, Raiola would surely be happy.
