It seems as though AC Milan face intense competition in the race to land Sporting CP defender Nuno Mendes, at least according to a report in Spain.
Calciomercato.com were among the first to report that Milan have their eye upon Mendes, who has already become a starter for the Lisbon-based club despite being just 18.
Goal.com then added that Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid are also interested as well as Juventus, Arsenal and Milan.
According to Le10Sport – who cite Goal Espana – Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running to land the teenager, who recently signed a new five-year deal with a €45m release clause.
Juventus are credited with interest as are Manchester United and Real Madrid, while Sporting ‘want to get as much money as possible’ from the sale of their academy jewel.
In fact, they would like to extend the player’s contract again and insert a €70m release clause to make sure they get the maximum possible from interested clubs.
