Lapo Nava was one of the key players for Milan Futuro in their 3-0 win over Lecco last night, keeping out a penalty with a great save. Once again, therefore, the Rossoneri got proof of their fantastic development of young goalkeepers.
During the pre-season tour in the US, due to Marco Sportiello’s unexpected injury, Milan played with the 19-year-old Lorenzo Torriani in goal. Making several great saves, including two in the penalty shootout against Barcelona, he was one of the best players on the tour.
Torriani has now been promoted to the third-choice goalkeeper of the first team, currently the second-choice one, as Milan have decided not to sign a replacement for Sportiello. Rightfully so, given just how many talented goalkeepers there are at the club.
Yesterday evening, Lapo Nava guarded the goal for Milan Futuro and made several great saves, including a fantastic penalty one. The 20-year-old proved once again just how much talent there is on the goalkeeper front for Milan, who are known to produce very good ones.
In addition to Nava and Torriani, Milan also have Noah Raveyre (starter for the Primavera) who – at the age of 19 – has impressed a lot as well. Andrea Bartocciono was one of the starters for the Primavera last season too but he left this summer for Serie C side Renate.
Should also mention Longoni who was the starter at the U-17 before his injury. We indeed have a fantastic range of goalkeeping talent.
Yeah hope they perform well, so if 60m bid comes, management will think about it, rather than being next Dollarumma in the past.
I wonder how many times the media will make report on what has already been reported. I believe the next news will be about how Jimenez is a prospect for the senior side. And the next news about this guy that made the opening goal(I forgot his name already.
Common, you shouldn’t base your news on quantity, but rather quality.
Meanwhile, I’m glad that they are making use Lapo Nava in the second team and I hope Torriani situation won’t be like Lapo Nava own during last season’s campaign
That still image shows just what a great penalty save that was.
The shot is not on the ground but quite low and is quite wide.
Not many keepers are saving that.
