Gol dell’ex possible during Milan-Juventus: four players to keep an eye on

AC Milan will be up against Juventus on Sunday, and if you look at the two squads, you will see that there is potential for a so-called gol dell’ex at San Siro.

After two consecutive defeats, Milan bounced back with a crucial win against Hellas Verona last weekend. Back on track, you could say, but the dip in form has definitely made the clash against Juventus more interesting.

Indeed, the Bianconeri are currently just three points behind in the standings and would thus leapfrog the Rossoneri with a win. Head-to-head points are what count in Serie A and since the first leg ended 0-0, the Turin side would be ahead (they also have better goal difference, by the way).

Four players to observe

As alluded to in the intro, there is a chance (or risk, depending on how you look at it) that we could see a gol dell’ex on Sunday, which means a former player scoring against Juve.

There are two of them in each team: Koni De Winter and Adrien Rabiot for Milan, Pierre Kalulu and Manuel Locatelli for Juve.

Those of you who have a good memory will know that Rabiot scored against Milan when he was at Juventus, while Locatelli also found the back of the net against Juventus when he was at Milan.

The former has also had the full circle moment already, scoring for the Bianconeri in their 1-0 win against the Rossoneri in the 2023-24 season.
