MN: Good news arrives for Milan ahead of Inter clash as key defender returns

By Oliver Fisher -

Some good news has arrived for AC Milan on the eve of their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Inter as Davide Calabria is back in training.

Milan were thrust into somewhat of a defensive emergency again during their 2-0 win over Genoa on Friday night as Calabria suffered with an intestinal problem and fever symptoms that forced him to miss the game, so Matteo Gabbia came in at centre-back with Pierre Kalulu shifting over given Alessandro Florenzi, Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer are all injured.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews however, Calabria’s condition has improved overnight. The Rossoneri full-back trained with the rest of the squad at Milanello today and should start from the first minute in tomorrow’s derby.

From that we can infer that – given Alessio Romagnoli is still out with an adductor problem – the back four in front of Mike Maignan should consist of Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez.
