AC Milan have long since identified the right reinforcement for next season’s midfield in Leon Goretzka, but negotiations are ongoing.
Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) have confirmed that everyone at Milan seems to agree on Goretzka being a smart signing. He has the experience that Massimiliano Allegri wants and he will leave Bayern Munich for free, reducing the financial strains of the operation.

AC Milan: The offer to Goretzka
The Rossoneri moved early to try to beat the strong competition for the midfielder and have presented a contract offer. It is a three-year proposal with an option for a fourth year, worth approximately €5m net per season plus bonuses.
The German’s arrival would be very welcome to Allegri because he would significantly strengthen the team and bring a wealth of experience at the highest levels, which has been lacking at times this season.
As mentioned, however, the competition is fierce, especially from Premier League teams. The player and his entourage – as reported in today’s edition of the paper – are still waiting for other official offers to come forward.
An answer should come in the next few weeks, with the World Cup coming up in the summer which complicates preseason and may bring forward a decision. The Rossoneri have made their move, now the ball is in the player’s court.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato.com confirm that Milan have made the most significant progress out of all interested clubs with a significant contract offer: a three-year contract worth €5m plus €2m in bonuses per season.
There are some key steps missing though, such as a signing bonus and agent fees which are now commonplace for free transfers, given the absence of a club-to-club fee. Goretzka wants a €10m signing bonus and a significant commission is requested by ROOF, his agency.
Giorgio Furlani is negotiating to halve the extra costs of the deal. The idea is to reach an agreement at around €5m for the signing bonus.

I’ve never heard of a football player getting a signing bonus. Seems unusual.
How old are you? It is as if you have just started to watch football, it seems to me that you are new to this.
5M plus bonuses is insane.
just swap Leao for Tonali, they will need winger once Gordon leaves.
Excellent idea!
I’d say fofana + 45ish million. It gives them a replacement for tonali without going to the market. This way we’d keep our most productive player this season. Doubt they’d do it though.
they are out of UCL and in general all of European competitions… not up to Newcastle at this point
he has experiences in the bench. lol
Good idea. It’s absurd to play Modric as a 6.
Just bring in Pogba
I am watching PSG vs Bayern game. And oh, the pace of the game is why inter lost 5 nil to PSG. Yet, some of you are happy with Goretzka, partnering modric and rabiot. Forget UCL if we can’t buy champions, but players wanted by mid table epl clubs. I am thinking, can Milan cope with this pace, the technique, the flair, the purpose and stamina these guys have.
Modric has done his part and should not be a part if the team again. I am even scared for our adventure in UCL if these are our top targets
Speed of PSG midfielders
Warren Zaïre-Emery 33.80
João Neves 31.73
Vitinha 31.55
Fabian Ruiz 31.46
Leon Goretzka 31.47
Going by that, only Warren Zaïre-Emery has a considerably noticeable top speed difference and Goretzka can measure up and adequately with the other three midfielders.
Our midfielders are faster than PSG’s.
Our CBs are faster than PSGss.
The only noticeable areas were PSG has faster players are in the FB/WB and Strikers department.
Hakimi and Mendes are way faster than Saelemaekers and Bartesaghi.
Leao evens out Kvaratskhelia.
Pulisic is no match for Doue.
Our CF isn’t fast enough, and that’s why I keep calling for Osimhen who is very mobile.
The secret of PSG is in the coaching intensity and how they execute the match. Milan can be that agile if we have the right coach.
Pulisic top speed is 33.9 km.
Doue is 33.8 km. So that’s a wash.
Modric has slowed and is 31.6
Rabiot has no data that I can find. I suspect ever PSG midfielder is faster then ours.
Rabiot 32.1 vs 33.80 Zaïre-Emery
Fofana 31.15 vs 31.55 Vitinha
Ricci 31.2 vs 31.73 João Neves
Jashari 30.10 vs 31.46 Fabian Ruiz
Going by these, only Zaïre-Emery has a really visible and considerable top speed than the others, all the others are within the 31km/h mark which isn’t considerably faster. I deliberately excluded Modric of course because he wouldn’t support my argument and of course I don’t want him in Milan any further.
Our players aren’t that slow, but we play a very slow style of football and I believe with a proper coach our players can measure up with the right drills as the speed difference isn’t much.
So yes, I do agree that PSG’s midfield is slightly faster than ours.
But what surprised me was checking and seeing that Pulisic tops Doue in both speed and acceleration.
It’s those little steps. With the midfield speed issue is how long in a game can older players keep up a high rate. I think that’s why many find their way to Serie A. I couldn’t find anything for Rabiot like you did. Thanks
“Our players aren’t that slow, but we play a very slow style of football and I believe with a proper coach our players can measure up with the right drills as the speed difference isn’t much.”
This! It’s the pace of the passes that has been our problem for years. Pace and accuracy. Just look how many passes are aimed BEHIND the target player.
@bb
Exactly, because I can remember when Rabiot came, he was moving quickly, hitting the pass quickly, but I can see our slow ball is beginning to affect him slightly.
“Exactly, because I can remember when Rabiot came, he was moving quickly, hitting the pass quickly, but I can see our slow ball is beginning to affect him slightly.”
We’ve seen that same thing with many new players over the last few years. They start out fresh and quick and after a few months they’ve been dragged down to the same level as the others and the passes have lost all of their quality. 🤷♂️
Did any of you actually watch the game? I didn’t see Goretzka being slow? What are you talking about? 😂
It’s all baseless and a defeatist propaganda.
Allegri will watch this game and say he doesn’t want wingers. Goretzka is a lump with zero talent but plenty of “experience” which is why Allegri loves him. If we had any guts our midfield next season would be Jashari, Alphadjo Cisse (once recovered) and 1 other. Ricci, Rabiot, Fofana, I’d settle for either.
Zero talent? LOL.
Yes, that guy literally played in the game against PSG for 15 minutes and he didn’t look out of place. But he has “zero talent”. You have no clue what you’re talking about. Zero.
You didn’t notice Goretzka played in the game? 😀 ?? Also Dembele, he was playing play station until 4AM until he was 26. And suddenly when things around him fell into place he is the best player in the world.
The speed of the game comes from the fast and smart movement of the ball. Look how fast decisions those players make, in small spaces. The passes are accurate, teams move in cohesion.
The speed of the game is not that much about running but a game plan executed by highly skilled players who play as a team knowing what they are doing with and without the ball.
Couldn’t have said better, and it all begins with the drills in training, but someone in here says training means nothing and that he’s an MMA fighter.
I read this and I start to laugh…. It’s not bout how far the players are. It’s bout the type of football the team played. Leao use to be very fast but under Allegri he has slowed down. Let forget the injury.
Player fast approaching pattern of football doesn’t mean every players need have pace.
10m is a lot but thats on rando report so its false article

Is it on paper or on the pitch?
The ‘paper’ is just the receipt for what happened on the pitch. Technology doesn’t ‘manufacture’ speed; it just captures it. If you’re arguing with the data, then you’re arguing with the cameras that watched the game.
When Hakan was with us he was running like at 29-30km/h but now he runs like a 32km/h player.
I can guarantee that our players are faster than they appear, our style of play make them play slow.
The last time we moved with speed as a team was when we had Theo in the early period of Pioli, since he got figured out and Theo left, we became the extra sluggish.
You compare Milan with PSG 😂😂😂 You make me laugh man.
This Milan can compare with PSG academy
Read to understand Pippo.
Ain’t literally comparing Ac Milan to PSG, the only essence is my just trying to say this Ac Milan we see isn’t the best version, and with a proper coach with greater agility and match conditioning, we can be better.
PSG is miles ahead and ain’t that dumb.
Goretzka in Ricci out. Good deal.
You really think if you write on every second article that Ricci needs to be sold it is going to happen? 😀 Even if someone read this and took it into account they wouldn’t sell an extra player for next seasons CL. It would be stupid. Anyone else from midfield that isn’t Rabiot or Modric will be sold before Ricci.
Goretzka in Fofana out. Similar profiles but Goretzka can hit the target.
just pay the man. he is worth the money. he will transform the midfield togther with the rest of the vets.
10m he not worth that 😂😂 Rabiot is twice better player then Goretzka same salary if want ok if dont he not worth
You tweakin bru, you are buying the experience not just the technical know how. its worth it.
We need an attack minded coach.
