GdS: Goretzka the final piece with Rabiot and Modric – why Milan are so keen on the German

In the lead-up to the summer, AC Milan are taking a keen look at Leon Goretzka and there are several reasons why they are so infatuated by the German.

Few names have reached the popularity of Goretkza’s recently. Inside the walls of Casa Milan, he is one of the favoured options for the summer and the word ‘perfect’ is already being thrown around. Indeed, he has got the club’s attention.

Available this summer as a free agent, Milan see him as a great opportunity and he could complete the midfield three.

Milan hope for Goretzka’s arrival

As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, the German would be an ‘ideal’ third to sit next to Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot. Massimiliano Allegri loves the idea of bringing him to San Siro and whilst his age is not aligned with the RedBird way, the management would also try to bring him.

A smart and physical midfielder, he would be perfect in the midfield three, acting as the other mezzala next to Rabiot. However, he has also played in a deeper and more advanced role. In other words, whatever the need, he can fill it.

Alongside the Frenchman, he would cause several teams problems in Italy and in Europe. So, are the Diavolo ready to make the leap needed?

Well, they would be ready to offer around €5 million per season to acquire the German on a three-year deal. It would not guarantee his place in the dressing room next season, but if no one else is willing to match his €9m salary, which he receives in Germany, he very well could head to Milano.

  1. Ederson was a better profile who in my opinion relegate Modric to the bench. Fofana is doing a good job and just needs to improve on his finishing. Next season he will improve.

Ederson with Fofana and Rabiot would prove all we need in midfield. But he is probably already on his way to Atletico Madrid.

        1. The crazy thing is he isn’t that much more expensive than a as player we bought that we gave absolutely no use for… VS a game changer.

          Sad.

    1. Ederson is a box to box midfielder, Modric is a regista in this Milan.
Ederson is more of a dirty work guy than someone who passes the ball around.
In what world would he relegate Modric to the bench?
Ederson Fofana and Rabiot provide ZERO creativity in the midfield. If Milan forwards don’t get any service now, they will get even less with that trio.

      1. Ederson is a good addition to Milan midfield. I didn’t mean he would be a good replacement for Modric specifically.

  2. A bit part player at Bayern is not the solution. No wonder Italian football is such a mess with ideas like this.
